Rebecca Elliott is a recent graduate of the Boston University School of Public Health in Boston Massachusetts, where she pursued a Master’s in Public Health with concentrations in both Health Policy and Law and Maternal and Child Health. Her work focuses on the disproportionately high maternal mortality rate among Black women, examining the intersections of race, education, income, and access. While at BUSPH she sat on the Student Advisory Board of the Public Health Post, Boston University’s only peer reviewed public health website, where she helped expand readership to college campuses across the country . She was also an active member of the Period Project, a student run organization whose mission is to ensure students have access to hygiene supplies on campus and advocates for menstrual equality globally. She has written op-ed for multiple publications, including The Witness: A Black Christian Collective, focusing on the intersections of race, politics, and religion. She is excited to continue her professional career shaping laws and policies to empower Black women and children around the country.
